ParticipantI’d like to contact Peter Cross about his model of 2725 in the latest newsletter. I’ve found his profile but unlike other forums (RMWeb, S4 Forum, WRRC froum….) there is no contact member by PM or email options.
Why is it ALWAYS necessary to do some pathetic maths before posting? I’m logged into a secure website. It seems crazy to me. Just like I would never take a photograph of a model of mine with dust or fingerprints on it.

ParticipantRichard
I would be really unhappy if anybody could contact me by email.
For me it would be the first step to this forum becoming like RMWeb.
Then I would be quitting this forum.Regards

ParticipantUnfortunately, it looks like this forum has been deserted already: very few posts, very few viewers online. The EM Modellers group on Facebook seems to do well though.

John CutlerIsn’t one of the purposes of the EMGS to be a correspondence group so that we can pass on modelling methods? That’s what I thought I’d joined. If not what is it meant to be?

ParticipantI remember someone contacting me about something I did for the newsletter. It’s possible Steve Young put him in touch with me. In broader terms regarding the Forum, I have said before that I think it needs a little more functionality if it is to attract more members and be more useful to us all. I wonder if the Forum on the new website will have the same format?

ParticipantOh, any number of ways.
I’d start by ringing the Membership Secretary and getting a message relayed via that office to the member concerned.
If that doesn’t work then try the Newsletter Editor, and get a message published therein.
If that doesn’t work then try ringing an Area Group Secretary in the member’s locality.
If that doesn’t work then try asking around at ExpoEM.
I’ll try and think of a few more.
