Has anyone experienced television interference whilst using this device/ If so how did they overcome it please?

Not since digital days. One can always turn the telly off?

Hi Nick Thanks for yours. Switching the tele off would solve the problem I agree. However, the strife that course of action
generate would make the Dunkirk beaches look like a Sunday school outing! I think that a simpler course of action is going to be to disconnect the device and buy a bottle of meths and some cotton buds.

            Regards
            Tony

Stick it on the Members’ Sales stand at ExpoEM and I’m sure someone will have it.

Nobody at expoEM will buy it if they use modern can motors or Portescaps – as many EM modellers do – replacement motors are to expensive, and in the case of Portescaps very hard to find. Best to ditch it and buy a botle of rail cleaning fluid – Carrs do a very good one.

Do they harm modern motors? Never heard that before. Mind you I’ve seen smoke coming out of the track before now and that can’t be good….

I missed out on a number of Relcos at the secondhand stall at ExpoEM 2017 owing to a shortage of cash on that day, having spent it on something else. Bugger!

Not my experience either, Stuart. Been doin’ fine for years. :-)

I have used these animals for many years and they interfere with the television, as I live near to Gaugemaster I will ask the tech guy, who always seems to have solutions to these problems.

Just as an aside to my original post I have just purchased a Southern Railways USA tank from Model Rail Magazine. These engines are made by Bachmann, and it clearly states in the instructions that a Relco or simiar high frequency track cleaner should not be used with them. Whether this applies to other Bachman locos I don’t know – maybe it is a different type of motor used in this particular class of loco?
Also I purchased a S/hand Portescap RG4/1219 at my local show; the original instruction sheet that came with it states that they require a smooth, pure 12v DC power supply. Surely a high frequency track cleaner is going to disrupt any semblance of a smooth, pure 12v DC power supply?
