Dave HarrisParticipantWell, expoEM spring 24 was a great weekend for me and I hope for all the visitors.
I was there as Deputy show manager, as I will be expoEM spring manager in 2025.
Many thanks to Tony Sullivan for showing me the ropes and passing on all his wisdom. And many thanks to ALL of the Stewards, demonstrators and exhibitors for their great works.
On the down side, sorry to report that…
– the show guide said the next spring show is 11/12 May… Ooops… it will be 10/11 May!
– there were 5 stands numbered 47! I’ve ignored the exhibitor who said ‘can I be Stand 47 as well’.
– The Leisure Centre accused us of parking in Parent n Child bays! We must correct this.

Paul TomlinsonParticipantDave, thanks for letting us have a view of the show. A fair few people in conversation, which is good to see. The dog looks very interested in proceedings… I hope he’s been converted to modelling in EM.

Dave HarrisParticipantI had to look hard for a dog in the image… Found it!
Where is Wally!

Nigel BurbidgeParticipantAn excellent weekend all round. A number of positive comments on the Western Thunder forum, including some new converts. I had a long shopping list of things I needed and managed to get them all. There aren’t many shows, these days, where you can say that.

Nick RidgwayParticipant23 Customers took up the offer of shunting Nettlebridge New Colliery. Most were non-members, four with interests in S4 and one with interests in 5” Finescale. One lady, who had not done railways before, had two goes.
I ended up slightly hoarse, indicating I had done my job.
Enjoyed the friendly banter with Andy on Daisy Sidings adjacent; both layouts are booked to attend the Mid Essex show at Shenfield in September for more mirth.
Great event, as usual.
Thank you, Tony, for pulling everything together over the past years.

ParticipantIs anybody putting up pictures and a review of the show? Some of us couldn’t make, and would like to see what we missed.

I did post some on the ‘EM Gauge Modellers Group’ on Facebook on May 14.
Cannot see how you do it here for a bulk posting.

ParticipantCan anybody advise me please? Opposite the marvellous Port Skerra layout and slightly to the left there was a retailer who was selling laser cut presentation displays. I wonder if anyone can help me with his contact details please? Many thanks for any help Dean
