Alan DurhamParticipantI always look forward to receiving the newsletter, it’s always a good read in my opinion. The first newsletter is not a disappointment and although I’ve only had a quick flick through the article about wagons by Ian Lofthouse has certainly caught my eye along with the signals of Kentside. Its always good to see the group reports to see what everybody else is doing. With regard to manual sheet, I had a go at converting the 48ds after discussing with Andy Avis it’s great to see that I have got it somewhere near right.
Thank you to everybody involved in contributing to the newsletter and other publications and of course thanks to Steve Young and other committee members who put them altogether for the society.

Nick RidgwayParticipantDo feel free to contribute yourself, Alan. Everyone has something to bring to the party, as it were. 🙂

Alan DurhamParticipantI am not sure what I have to offer, as my skills are very modest compared to the majority of fine work by others. I have spoken with Steve Young about trying to put a few bits together but tbh at present time just seems to run away with me. I have put a few posts on the fb page about doing things with older models on a limited budget.

Nick RidgwayParticipantWell, that could be a tag line: EM gauge using older models on a limited budget.
I know of an EM gauge version of the Tri-ang dock shunter, and an EM gauge version of a Stewart Reidpath freelance 0-6-0T, for example.
These sorts of things are interesting to Newsletter readers. Including me. 🙂

Stephen GranthamParticipantI don’t seem to have received the latest issue.
My subs are on a direct debit so it can’t be that.
Is there a problem?
Thanks

Nick RidgwayParticipantI dunno. Does not ringing the MemSec directly count as one?

Stephen GranthamParticipantIt’s probably just the post.

Nick RidgwayParticipantWell, only the MemSec would know at the moment.
He doesn’t bite. Give him a ring and you’d know too. 👍

Trade OfficerKeymasterI think there are a few members who haven’t received their copy – including me. It is possible that the automatic mailing has gone astray somehow.
i will get in touch with Steve Young, the Newsletter Editor
The Mem Sec is in Australia at the moment so you won’t get a response

Steve YoungKeymasterHi guys.
As far as I know up until now the only issues was one where the address details were wrong and a second (John Wragg) who didn’t receive his copy.
Now it seems we have another missing with Steve Grantham.Absolutely no point in contacting the Membership Secretary as I arrange the complete Newsletter with the fulfilment company who arrange the printing/stuffing/mailing. After this I get the overruns and ship out any members who joined subsequent to the shipping.
At the moment my concern is that both John W and Steve G both live in North Yorkshire and might be a local issue.
Can I ask that should you have not (or have) received the Newsletter by Monday lunchtime if you can contact me direct and I will mail out replacements as necessary.
Thanks.

Cheers Steve Young – Newsletter Editor.
