I have used the Alan Gibson conversion kit and Pete Hill’s instructions to convert this to EM. I have also fitted new coupling rods to replace the RTR stamped metal rods as bought. The loco has a plethora of gears between the driving wheels which effectively do the job of the coupling rods and contribute to a rather noisy mechanism despite being lubricated and run in before conversion. Has anyone removed the gear train to leave just the driven axle? Any other thoughts?
