ParticipantFor anyone contemplating the conversion of the 2-6-0 this is my experience of following the excellent instructions and picture gallery from the EMGS website for the not dissimilar 4MT 4-6-0. http://yeovilmrg.org/bachmann-br-4mt-2-6-0-in-em-gauge/

ParticipantWell I tried unsuccessfully to add more info to my ‘thanks for this’! Here goes: Alan Gibson does some washers specifically for Bachmann and Hornby rods to get a better fit for their crankpins. The product code is 4800, and I am trying them out tomorrow!

ParticipantHi David,
I thought I’d used AG part 4800, but the conversion was carried out in late 2018, and I could be mistaken. I was surprised when they didn’t fit as I had used them successfully on a Bachmann N class conversion. Hope it goes well for you, and it will be good to hear how you get on.
If you are interested in my .dxf files for the dummy main frames then we’ll have to work out a way for me to send them to you, because amazingly at only 115Kb they are too large to be attachments on this forum!Steve

ParticipantHi Steve, I ended up using Markits crankpin spacing washers instead. The AG versions being used as coupling rod spacers on a different loco.
Thanks for your offer on the cosmetic frames, but I am not modelling the same mogul as you are. I am modelling a few GWR inside and outside frame locos right now. So ‘thanks, but no thanks’ on your kind offer.
Cheers, Dai Davies -

ParticipantHello.
First time on this forum in a long time – I thought it had been closed down! Anyway, thanks for your post and the Blog link to what you did, as I have some of these I would like to do, perhaps particularly one of the ones allocated to Dumfries from new and used on the line to Kirkcudbright, amongst other lines.
I would be interested in your frame profile drawings, if you were willing to forward it to me? Although as I don’t have CAD not sure what I could open it with? If you still cannot post it here I can advise of my email address.

ParticipantHi John,
Have attached a PDF file for the frame profiles with x and y scales (mm) so that you can check your print. The holes for what I think are the injectors are missing, but these drawings should be a good starting point for you. It’s a lovely model and well worth doing the conversion.
Best wishes,
Steve -

ParticipantHi, I have done the Bachmann Ivatt 4mt with the very similar chassis and used the etched rods for the Ivatt and BR 4mt mogul by Lanarkshire Models. Made for the job with the correct bore for Gibson or Markits crankpins.
