The Evemodel figures duly arrived from China. They look a bit better than the average Chinese figures advertised on eBay but not by much. They are definitely HO and mostly small even for 1:87 scale; I guess they are to scale for smaller Chinese people. At least 25% are noticeably Chinese and unusable. Some of the paint finishes are far too glossy to use as they are; even in a dark cranny the reflective finish might attract unwanted attention. The paint finish is poor compared to Preiser’s Mauritius’ painted people.

The top row is probably unusable. The middle row might be OK but need work, even if only matt varnishing. 50% of the Evemodel figures are shown; the other 50% are duplicates. The bottom row comprises ModelU, Monty’s, scale3d and Preiser figures for comparison.
My conclusion is that these are really too small and Chinese-looking. They can be adapted and partly hidden at the centres of carriages well away from any 1:76 figures but I am not sure they are worth the effort as far as I am concerned.
I do not think I can afford any more experimentation!
