New EU Regulations – PPWR Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation

New regulations regarding mailing items to EU countries mean that at present I cannot mail orders to EU countries.

The new regulations that came into force on August 12th 2026 and regulate the type of packaging the empty space in the packaging and what the items themselves are packaged in. It also requires a appoint an Authorised Representative in each country you ship to in order to handle these obligations on our behalf. Not to mention the paperwork involved in registering and proving compliance
Unfortunately there is no exemption for clubs and societies selling to members

Whether there is any way we can legitimately circumvent this is doubtful

Members Who Live in EU Countries

The following import duties will apply to all deliveries. Below are the new rules

From 1 July 26, changes to EU import rules mean a duty will apply to all parcels containing goods sent from Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland) to EU countries.

  • The duty doesn’t apply to gifts under €45.
  • The €3 duty will apply per HS code, plus any EU handling fees, to parcels valued at €150 or less.
  • The €3 duty, plus any EU handling fees, will apply to all business-to-consumer goods under €150, including those sold by non-EU sellers registered under Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS).

Orders only contain one HR code

I will add the additional cost to the actual postage. If you prefer that you pay it prior to having the Parcel delivered please put a note on the order

Increased Cost of RTR B6 points

I have just received the latest delivery of stock from Peco and the manufacture costs have increased a lot more than expected

Unfortunately, despite my Newsletter entry, I have to further increase the cost of the points to £36. I realise that this a very large increase but I hadn’t ordered new stock for a considerable time. However, compared to Peco’s own 00 gauge points it still represents good value.

The plain track has not increased in price to the same extent and so I can keep the cost to that in the Newsletter
