Tyneside Loop Benton Station 1908-23

Been planning a layout of this for a while (Infact I am still planning it) and I decided to go EM as nearly all the stock needs scratchbuilt (Unless 52F brings out their kit before I get to building, or I can find a Dave Alexander kit of it for a reasonable price). I’m hoping that I can get the layout to exhibition standard, as its a very under-modeled system and I believe will be an interesting layout.

I wanted to ask if anyone has any tips on building an EM gauge layout as the most I have done in EM is assist with an EM gauge Metro layout under construction by BTMRS; Other than that I have only ever used OO Gauge.

As I get further through construction I will add updates to this topic but for now I will leave this here so I don’t create a wall of text for a layout that doesn’t exist yet

My current thinking that a small project may be the best approach.

Have a look at my little layout as an example.

A couple of points and a small footprint is easy to manage.

This can be achieved in a very short time and gives you a chance to hone your skills and learn by your mistakes.

Then you can think about your next grand project.
