A few years ago now I put together a full length Lima HST and converted it to EM Gauge to run on the scale mile circuit YMRG South Junction Layout. The Lima mouldings are excellent and the blue/grey livery finish is very consistent between batches so that it’s relatively easy to put a full length train together that looks right. It’s powered at both ends using replacement can motors in the original Lima power bogies, although DC it has a form of constance brightness lighting and a top speed of around 180mph. Easily the most fun I’ve had in model railways! Details at https://yeovilmrg.org/lima-hst-in-em-gauge/
Hope this encourages someone else have a go at one of these.
