Bachmann 45xx conversion using shoulder axles

Hello,

I’m a new member and have a Bachmann 45xx I’d like to convert to EM. They are out of stock at present but is it possible to use the 3mm/2mm shoulder axle for this loco and keep the existing wheels?

EM Shoulder axle 3mm – 2mm Pack of 10

I don’t know enough about the 45xx conversion but unfortunately the shouldered axles you mention are also out of stock. There are a number of axle sizes I am trying to source without it costing an arm and a leg per axle

The 45xx conversion kit is on order but I have no delivery date as yet

Sorry that is not good news at the moment

Thank you John. My 45xx is a way down the pile of conversions so having noted the axles are out of stock, I’m in no rush so happy to wait.
