    Just some modest progress to report. The frames have been soldered together. I do this with an axle through the bearings. You can then squint at it against a bright light with a square held along the frame until the light shining through the gap between axle and square is, well, square. The picture shows what I mean better than I can describe it. There are probably better ways, but I’m too stuck in mine to start using a chassis jig now.

    The basic gearbox assembly, a High Level Roadrunner + was assembled to check clearances, the motor gently run in, and a flywheel has been made on the lathe. Basic stuff for some I appreciate, but it helps me to learn how to use it, and even saves a few pounds, if not a few hours of my life!
