Thank you all for your advice. I am trying to fit a motor bogle under a Irish 3ft gauge Clogher Valley Railway Walker Brothers Unit. The etch was made to take a Mike Chinnery motor bogie which has not be available for many years.
I have sourced the wheels and gears ideticle to the original and made the frames from brass strip. It is getting the lay shaft gears to mesh which is the problem. I like the idea of being able to adjust the lay shaft worm above the axle gear wheel and think this could br done by putting the lay shaft bearing in a slot were it could be adjusted by means of a screw in a captive nut under the frames.
