Some of us also swear ‘by’ Gibson plunger pickups, I do, and I’ve shown others how to use them properly. Yes they are Marmite to people and as I’ve used them on everything from Pugs  to WD 2-10-0s I find they work fine for me, some prep to ensure they slide smoothly in the plastic bush with no lub and some very fine wire like DCC wire as has been said. The WD 2-10-0 build is the most recent and can be seen here performing as it should, it also has CSB suspension.
