Alan, If I had carte blanche to fit whatever drive mechanism I chose, I’d go with one of the “bogies” supplied by High Level Kits in a number of wheelbases. I would baulk at making my own – I did once try with the aid of a milling machine and vertical drill, but was never happy with the result.
