        Calling LNWR and MR enthusiasts!

I have a number of original contract drawings for which I would like to find a new home.  They are in variable condition, unsurprising for drawings that are up to 160 years old! They include the following:

        1. Enlargement of Rugby Station: Drawing No1.  Dated March 1884.  Scale is 20 feet to the inch, 1/240.  The drawing is colour washed and its big: 8′ long and 2′ 6 ” wide.  Its annotated copy to Messrs Varnell and Son, Copy to Mr French and Copy of Block Plan of Station Buildings to Mr Webb!

        2. LNWR Stour Valley Line: Proposed Plan of Fulwoods End Bridge, Deepfields Cutting. Dated 1862 Signed by Richard Thompson Bilston and Henry Westhouse  (Engineers Office, Stafford April 1862).  Scale 2 feet to 1 inch, ie 1/24.  The drawing is colour washed. Its about 3′ x 2′.

        3. LNWR Stour Valley Line: Proposed Plan of Sheldon’s Bridge, Deepfields Cutting. Dated 1862 Signed by Richard Thompson Bilston and Henry Westhouse  (Engineers Office, Stafford April 1862).  Scales vary from 8feet to 1 inch ie 1/96 1 foot per 1 inch, ie 1/12.  The drawing is colour washed. Its about 3′ 6″ x 2′ 0 “.

        4. LNWR Soho Handsworth and Perry Barr Junctions: Tunnel under Hampstead Road at 1m 71 Chains, Railway No 1 Drg No 17.  Dated April 1885 .  Scales vary from 10 to 5 feet to 1 inch.  Signed H Levinson and E McConnell?  Drawing colour washed, and its about 4′ 3″ x 2′ 4″.

        5. LNWR Whitchurch Station: Roof over Chester Bay Drg No 3. Dated July 1881, Scale is 1 1/4″ to 10′ ie 1/96.  Colour washed and signed John Collin.  Drawing size approx 3′ 4 ” x 2′ 2″.

        6. LNWR Whitchurch Station: New Waiting Rooms etc upon Island Platform. Dated August 1881, Scale is 2 1/2″ to 10′ ie 1/48.  Colour washed and signed Harry Fortner and John Collin.  Drawing size approx 2′ 2″ x 1′ 7″.

        7. LNWR (Sutton Coldfield Branch) Drawing No 5, Bridge over Canal. Undated, Scale 1/16″ to 1′, ie 1/192.  Colour washed.  Drawing size approx 2′ 1″ x 2′ 1″.

        8. Midland Railway Nottingham New Station Booking Hall Block Drg No 8.  Scale 1/2″ to 1′  ie 1/24. Undated on linen.  Drg size approx. 2’9” x 2’ 4”.

        9.  Midland Railway Nottingham New Station Half Longitudinal Section.  Scale 2’ to 1”  ie 1/24. Undated on linen. Drawing size approx. 3’ 1” x 2’ 1”.

        10. Midland Railway Nottingham New Station Half inch Detail of Clock Tower.  Scale 1/2″ to 1′ ie 1/24. Undated on linen. Drawing size approx. 3’ 3” x 2’ 6”.

The smaller drawings would look good in a clip frame on the wall, but you’ll need a large railway room for the Enlargement of Rugby Station!

I would like £5 per drawing, but if someone is interested in taking them all, I am open to sensible offers.

I’ve included some images to give an idea of what they are like, but if you’d like some specific pictures, please email me on newbie100@tiscali.co.uk and I will forward as appropriate.

These drawings are advertised elsewhere, so if you are interested, please gt in touch asap.  I will be at ExpoEM in Bracknell on Saturday, so can hand over there, or post at your cost.
