Welcome to the EM Gauge Society Virtual Show.

Whether you are a regular visitor to the EMGS expos or visiting for the first time, I hope that you will find something to interest and inspire you at this, our first virtual presentation.

There is a good selection of layouts some of which have never been seen on the exhibition circuit so this may be the only opportunity that you will have to see them. The demonstrations cover a wide variety of topics. There are some that I will certainly want to drop into during the day. The lectures look interesting, and I would like to attend them all, but that will not be possible, unfortunately.

In the spirit of our usual expo events,  visitors to the show have day membership of the society and can therefore access the trade stand to purchase items from the store and all orders are post free while the event is ‘live’ (i.e. between 10.30am and 5.30pm on Saturday 22nd May). Additionally visitors who join the Society at this event will enjoy 16 months of membership.

Finally, I want to thank Peter Rigby and his crew for putting on this virtual show.

Bill Wyatt-Millington

Chairman EMGS

It is my pleasure to add my greetings and welcome you to the ‘Virtual expoEM Spring 2021. In view of the ongoing  Coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions on social interaction that were likely to remain in place in the next few  months, the Board of the EM Gauge Society decided in Autumn 2020 that it will not be possible to hold expoEM  Spring in its usual format for the second year running. Instead, the EMGS are going online to host a ‘Virtual  expoEM’.
New video footage has been prepared in readiness for the ‘Virtual expo’ and feature video presentations of several layouts which never leave home, and a number which appear only very occasionally on the exhibition circuit, in  more normal times. Sincere thanks are due to those EMGS members (and others) who have overcome severe constraints to develop the content you see here today.
